Businesses are eligible to enter the awards if they are located in, or conduct business in, the Bunbury Geographe region. This consists of Bunbury, Capel, Dardanup, Harvey, Donnybrook-Balingup and Collie.
Businesses can be nominated for the awards, or they can submit themselves. This will have no impact in the judging process. The submission questions will cover operations, customers, people & culture, community impact and finances, in order to demonstrate an overarching picture of business excellence.
Submission answers should be based around the prior 12 months of business activity (March 2023 - March 2024), except for the financial reports (which should be FY 22-23).
Submissions for the 2024 Awards are now closed. Finalists will be announced on 4th July 2024.
Businesses may enter into ONE of the following categories:
The business has 0 employees apart from themselves as an individual.
The business employs 1 to 5 five staff members (full-time or equivalent)
The business must employ 6 to 10 staff members (full-time or equivalent)
The business must employ 11 to 20 staff members (full-time or equivalent)
The business must employ a minimum of 21 staff members (full-time or equivalent)
The business must have majority Aboriginal ownership and be established for commercial enterprise.
They can then enter one or all of the additional categories if they feel that is applicable to their business operations:
The business demonstrates the use and application of innovation in either processes, production or marketing that has tangibly improved their business operations and output.
The business demonstrates leadership and commitment to sustainable and environmental practices in their operation
Businesses cannot enter directly into Business of the Year. Winners from each category will be automatically entered into this
